STEP 1: Attend a Welcome Session
Start at the Welcome Session and we'll walk you through the day.

Sessions: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m., last session starts at 9:20 a.m.
Duration: 20 minutes, sessions repeat

By car: For the best available parking, take I-5 to Genesee Avenue exit and follow the signs to Triton Day parking.

Disabled Parking: From the I-5, exit La Jolla Village Drive and follow signs for disabled parking.
Please note this is for disabled guests only and there is NO general event parking at this location

Public Transportation: Visit the San Diego MTS website for information.

Airport Transportation: The closest major airport to UC San Diego is the San Diego International Airport (SAN). You can access campus from SAN via car, public transit, or commercial shuttle.

Triton Day is a showcase of UC San Diego’s vibrant community of infinite opportunities. Triton Day allows admitted students and their families to explore the UC San Diego campus, undergraduate colleges, academic departments, student services, student organizations and endless resources. Triton Day admission is free.
Triton Day is Saturday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Welcome sessions for admitted students and families begin at 8 a.m., and the last one begins at 9:20 a.m. You will be guided to your college following the welcome sessions. There is an early bird campus tour at 7 a.m.; additional tours will depart every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Academic and Student Support Services sessions are repeated throughout the day.
Once you exit the freeway, signs will lead you to the best available Triton Day parking. Follow signs and look for greeters to guide you to the center of campus and one of many Welcome/Informational booths. At the booth you will receive:
  • Triton Day program with a list of event activities and a campus map
  • Answers to questions
  • Directions to Welcome Sessions
We can make special arrangements for you. Please let us know your needs in advance by emailing
  • Admitted students: bring the All Day Pass mailed to you in your Admit Packet and wear it proudly!
  • Any tickets or reservations emailed to you.
  • Your tentative schedule. You can plan your day here. Note that this is a self-planner and does not reserve your spot in any session.
Students in grades 6-11 should attend College Prep for Future Tritons, a special program just for you on Triton Day. Follow the link for details and registration.
There are many dining options on campus, including several restaurants, dining halls and special food trucks at the 36th Annual Cultural Celebration held at Thurgood Marshall College on campus. A detailed list of eateries will be included in the program you’ll receive when you arrive on campus.
Yes! The Bookstore in Price Center will be open from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Look for coupons in the Triton Day program!
